Loading packages of plywood into the hold of the motor coasting vessel Sea Avon (1977) alongside a quayside in Busan (previously known as Pusan), South Korea

Loading packages of plywood into the hold of the motor coasting vessel Sea Avon (1977) alongside a quayside in Busan (previously known as Pusan), South Korea. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay and the photographer is standing on the port side near the forecastle looking aft, to starboard and down into the hold. The hold's sliding hatches are open and two Korean dock workers are guiding a sling of packaged plywood being lowered by crane into the hold. Two dock workers, one dressed in a light blue T shirt and blue jeans and another wearing a white T-shirt and beige trousers, are standing next to a stationary green forklift truck in the middle of the hold. Three men are standing on a stack of packages in the starboard rear corner of the hold. Two more dock workers are standing on the starboard side of the deck near the open hatch. An unidentified ship is berthed aft of the Sea Avon. Storage buildings are in the background. This is Slide 3 of a lecture titled "World Wide Ship Delivery" given by Captain Henry P. Bird detailing his service as Chief Officer on board the motor coaster Sea Avon (1977) owned by Freight Express Seacon Ltd of London from 11 July 1977 to 9 September 1977. The lecture consists of 22 slides.
