Part of the vessel's name and port of registry is in the bottom left corner of the image. Trees and hills on the opposite river bank are in the background. A crewman is standing on top of the wheelhouse roof. A red Ensign is flying from a jackstaff on top of the superstructure aft of the funnel. 2 lifeboats covered in canvas are stowed in davits on the port and starbaord side. This is Slide 30 of a series of slides detailing Captain H. Bird's service as supernumerary Second Officer on board the sand suction dredger Sand Swan (1970) and eventually Chief Officer on the sand suction dredger Sand Skua (1971) owned by the South Coast Shipping Co. Ltd. from 6 May 1973 to 27 June 1973.
