The Royal Naval Exhibition at the Royal Hospital, Chelsea, London in 1891
The Royal Naval Exhibition at the Royal Hospital, Chelsea, ran from 2 May to 24 October 1891. This is the Trophy of Arms and Britannia statue inside the main entrance area behind the entrance kiosk. The legend, taken from the Articles of War, reads 'The Navy, whereon under the good providence of God, the wealth, safety and strength of the Kingdom chiefly depend'. A copy negative produced by the NMM Studio of a mounted photographic print contained in Photograph Album No. ALB1386.
