A close detail of the hoisting shackles attached to a fixing point on the front roof plate of A turret of the battlecruiser Repulse (1916). The turret is trained off the starboard bow. The ship is berthed under the 250 ton hammerhead crane on the north side of the promontory in No. 3 Basin of Portsmouth Dockyard. Her 15 inch guns are being replaced during a three year modernization.
