A study of the presentation launching casket made for the launch of the light cruiser Aurora (1936) by Lady Fisher at Portsmouth Dockyard. The wooden casket is viewed from the back and is rectangular, stands on four small feet and carved on the rear panel of the casket is "H.M.S. Aurora Launched by Lady Fisher at Portsmouth 20th Aug. 1936". Attached to each corner is an upright, limbless, bird-headed, winged sea-griffin.
