A study of the presentation launching casket made for the launch of the light cruiser Aurora (1936) by Lady Fisher at Portsmouth Dockyard. The wooden casket is seen from above and is rectangular. Carved on the lid of the casket is a representation of the ship's badge, a rising sun over a sea horizon, with a mermaid riding in a sea shell which is being pulled by two seahorses. The handle on the lid is in the shape of a cockleshell.
