A close view of the 4 inch gun breach and shield of the destroyer Vortigern (1917) that was involved in the fatal accident on 9 Mar. 1937 in which labourer George Henning of West Street, Southsea was killed and labourer Charles Ruston was taken to hospital with an injured hand. The gun has been righted and the breech is supported on a stack of timber baulks. The Vortigern (1917) is in Portsmouth Dockyard.
