Collision damage to the hull of the destroyer Acheron (1930) in Portsmouth Dockyard, Hampshire

A starboard quarter view, taken from close alongside the hull abreast station 133 looking aft, of the afterpart of the destroyer Acheron (1930) berthed alongside in Portsmouth Dockyard with collision damage to her hull just above the waterline. She was in collision with a barge while leaving Portsmouth early in the morning and had to return for repairs. Her hull has been gashed at lower deck level from station 140 to station 157.
