Collision damage to the hull of the destroyer Acheron (1930) in Portsmouth Dockyard, Hampshire
A view taken on board the destroyer Acheron (1930), looking to starboard in the ward room on the lower deck from stations 144 to 147. She is berthed alongside in Portsmouth Dockyard with damage to her hull just above the waterline after being in collision with a barge while leaving Portsmouth early in the morning and having to return for repairs. Her hull has been gashed at lower deck level from station 140 to station 157.
