Gun lifting arrangements on board the light cruiser Glasgow (1936) in Portsmouth Dockyard, Hampshire

A close starboard midship detail of the light cruiser Glasgow (1936) in Portsmouth Dockyard showing a tubular steel scaffold structure erected over the Glasgow's S1 twin 4 inch gun mounting. The photographer is on board the gunnery training ship Iron Duke (1912) which is berthed outboard of the Glasgow (1936) and he is looking to port and slightly forward from just abaft the gun mounting. The right 4 inch QF Mk XVI gun is being pulled back in the hoist. The Glasgow (1936) was in Portsmouth for repairs 29 Mar. - 10 May 1938.
