Gun lifting arrangements on board the light cruiser Glasgow (1936) in Portsmouth Dockyard, Hampshire
A very close detail of a tubular steel scaffold structure erected over the S1 twin 4 inch gun mounting of the light cruiser Glasgow (1936) while she is in Portsmouth Dockyard. The photographer is on board the gunnery training ship Iron Duke (1912) which is berthed outboard of the Glasgow (1936), which was in Portsmouth for repairs 29 Mar. - 10 May 1938. He is looking at the front of the mounting showing that the right 4 inch QF Mk XVI gun has been pulled back in the hoist. Vertical format.
