Trials of underwater cutting apparatus in Portsmouth Dockyard, Hampshire
A large steel plate riveted to angle pieces used as a test piece for underwater cutting apparatus trials in Portsmouth Dockyard. The test piece has been photographed propped up against a wheeled trolley on a roadway next to a dry dock in the dockyard. The date 20.10.38 has been written on the plate. A strip cut from across the plate is resting against the bottom of the plate. See negative number N24744 for another view of this plate after further cutting.
