Severe damage to the destroyer Venomous (1918) in dry dock, Portsmouth Dockyard, Hampshire

A close view of severe damage to the starboard side of the bow of the destroyer Venomous (1918) from stations 21 to 28 and from the hold to the upper deck level, taken from just abaft the beam. She is in dry dock in Portsmouth Dockyard and water is still draining out of the gash, which was caused by a collision.
