Bomb damage to the destroyer Boadicea (1930) in dry dock in Portsmouth Dockyard, Hampshire

A close detail of the bottom of the hull of the destroyer Boadicea (1930) in dry dock in Portsmouth Dockyard, taken from the bottom of the dock off the starboard beam, showing the damaged bottom plating between stations 86 and 88 under No. 2 boiler room. A bomb passed through No. 2 boiler room without exploding. The bombing occurred off the French coast near Fecamp on 10 Jun. 1940 and the Boadicea was towed to Dover and then on to Portsmouth.
