A bomb damaged building in the naval barracks at Portsmouth, Hampshire
A bomb damaged building in the naval barracks at Portsmouth. The building has two storeys under a pitched, close boarded and slated roof and has a line of 32 pane, slightly curved top windows at 1st floor level and each of these windows has a square 4 pane section near the top that opens. The damage occurred on the night of 10-11 Mar. 1941. The Portsmouth Dockyard negative register only gives the location as dockyard and barracks but it is probably the north side of the Victory Barracks. This is the same building as in negative number N24920 (Portsmouth Dockyard Negative Number P135/40 which is dated December 1940)
