Professor Taylor's Experiment in No. 3 Basin, Portsmouth Dockyard, Hampshire
A view of a contraption suspended from a crane on the south side of No. 3 Basin in Portsmouth Dockyard. In the background and seen from wide off her starboard bow is the Polish destroyer Burza (1929). Her pendant number is H73. The Portsmouth Dockyard negative register describes this photograph as "Prof. Taylor's Experiment" and the order for the photographic work was placed by the Superintendent Scientist.
