A temporary scaffold frame for the mock up of the mast for the light cruiser Achilles (1932) between 14 and 15 Dry Docks, Portsmouth Dockyard, Hampshire.
A temporary scaffold frame erected between nos. 14 and 15 Dry Docks in Portsmouth Dockyard. The top is boarded and there are four shaped crutches designed to take a mock up of a mast for the light cruiser Achilles (1932). A capstan and a bollard in the foreground appear to be painted in camouflage. A rake of railway trucks containing salvaged materials is in the background with a large quayside crane beyond. The Portsmouth Dockyard negative register number P9/43 is written near the bottom of the negative.
