The construction of the light cruiser Hawke on No. 5 Slip, Portsmouth Dockyard, Hampshire.
Looking aft from the port side of the vertical keel near station 60 of the light cruiser Hawke on No. 5 Slip in Portsmouth Dockyard. Men are working on the construction of the double bottom and bulkhead 106 is in position. Two riveting gangs are at work and the rivet heater near bulkhead 106 looks like a woman. The Portsmouth Dockyard negative register number P148/43 has been written near the bottom left corner of the negative.
