A G78 LILO unit under construction on the floor of Admiralty Floating Dock 11 (1924) which is moored in Fountain Lake, Portsmouth Dockyard. A rubber airbag is being lowered over one of the hollow concrete tubes. The airbag is suspended on a series of wires and a gang of men are manhandling the bottom fixings over the centre of the tube. A concrete batching plant is in the foreground. The photographer is looking east across the dock from the south side wall in the middle of the dock. The Portsmouth Dockyard negative register number P155/43 has been written in the bottom left corner of the negative.
