A G78 LILO unit under construction on the floor of Admiralty Floating Dock 11 (1924) which is moored in Fountain Lake, Portsmouth Dockyard. A rubber airbag is being lowered over one of the hollow concrete tubes. The airbag is suspended on a series of wires and a gang of men are manhandling the bottom fixings over the end of the tube. They are being led by a man using a speaking trumpet. A concrete batching plant and a rail mounted crane are in the foreground. The photographer is looking east-by-north across the dock from the south side wall in the middle of the dock. The Portsmouth Dockyard negative register number P158/43 has been written near the bottom left corner of the negative.
