Testing paints on the destroyer Porcupine (1941) in No. 3 Basin, Portsmouth Dockyard, Hampshire.
A close port broadside view of B gun deck and the forward part of the bridge of the destroyer Porcupine (1941) alongside the jetty on No. 3 Basin between Nos 13 and 14 Dry Docks in Portsmouth Dockyard. Various parts of the structure have been painted in different formulae of paint. The number 536 and what appears to be A C Formula L1780L A.1 G45 can be seen on different areas under B gun deck. The photographer is standing on the stern section of the ship which is berthed alongside the forward section. The Portsmouth Dockyard negative register number P214/43 has been written in the bottom left corner of the negative.
