Testing paints on the destroyer Porcupine (1941) in No. 3 Basin, Portsmouth Dockyard, Hampshire.
A very close port broadside view of the side plating under the bridge wing of the destroyer Porcupine (1941) alongside the jetty on No. 3 Basin between Nos 13 and 14 Dry Docks in Portsmouth Dockyard. Various parts of the structure have been painted in different formulae of paint. A1/G.45 is stensilled on one of the paint patches. The photographer is standing on the stern section of the ship which is berthed alongside the forward section. The Portsmouth Dockyard negative register number P219/43 has been written in the bottom left corner of the negative.
