The former hopper barge W24 (Persephone) (1938) in No. 3 Basin, Portsmouth Dockyard, Hampshire
On board the former hopper barge W24 (Persephone) (1938) looking aft along the starboard side of the upper deck amidships while berthed on the south side of the promontory in No. 3 Basin, Portsmouth Dockyard. She is being fitted with a 48 feet diameter drum to lay Hammel cable pipe under the sea. This vessel was named Persephone at some time during the conversion.
