A close view of the port side of the hull in way of the A bracket of the escort destroyer Goathland (1942) in dry dock in Portsmouth Dockyard. Staging has been erected to enable a hole in the ship's side, just above the A bracket, to be repaired. There is a small dent in the forward edge of the A bracket outer arm. The photograph is taken from the side wall of the dry dock. No details relating to the cause of the damage can be found. The Portsmouth Dockyard negative register number P158/44 has been written near the bottom middle of the negative.
