Floating Dock Jetty Approach Road, Portsmouth Dockyard, Hampshire
Looking south along the Floating Dock Jetty Approach Road from the top of the south wall of AFD 11 (1924) moored in Fountain Lake, Portsmouth Dockyard. A number of barges and lighters, including one identified as BB.151, are in the foreground and the bow of the collier Corminster (1928) can be seen on the right, beyond Mr N Rogers Interview Office. Stacks of timber are on either side of the railway track on the access bridge. The Round Tower is in the centre with the coal stacks beyond and the gas works on the left. In the right background is No. 3 Basin. The Portsmouth Dockyard negative register number P165/44 has been written in the bottom left corner of the negative.
