The torpedo damaged corvette Pink (1942) in No. 8 Dry Dock, Portsmouth Dockyard, Hampshire
On board the damaged corvette Pink (1942) in No. 8 Dry Dock, Portsmouth Dockyard, looking forward and to starboard along the extended forecastle deck from frame 86 showing corrugations to the deck at about frame 83. The engine room skylight is in the middle of the photograph. The Pink was hit by a Gnat acoustic torpedo fired from the German submarine U 988 off Normandy on 27 Jun. 1944. She was written off as a constructive total loss.
