The torpedo damaged corvette Pink (1942) in No. 8 Dry Dock, Portsmouth Dockyard, Hampshire

On board the damaged corvette Pink (1942) in No. 8 Dry Dock, Portsmouth Dockyard, looking forward along the starboard side of the upper deck from about frame 82 showing corrugations to the deck and a bent bulwark at about frame 72. A depth charge thrower is on the left of the photograph. The Pink was hit by a Gnat acoustic torpedo fired from the German submarine U 988 off Normandy on 27 Jun. 1944. She was written off as a constructive total loss.
