The damaged frigate Trollope (1943) on North Corner Jetty, Portsmouth Dockyard, Hampshire
On board the frigate Trollope (1943) berthed alongside North Corner Jetty in Portsmouth Dockyard, looking forward along the starboard side of the upper deck showing the corrugations to the deck plating. The entire forepart of the Trollope (1943) is missing, up to and including the foremast, having been blown off by a torpedo from a German S-boat off the Normandy beaches on 6 Jul. 1944. Berthed ahead is the tank landing ship LST 160 (1942) with her bow doors open and her ramp partially lowered.
