The damaged frigate Trollope (1943) on North Corner Jetty, Portsmouth Dockyard, Hampshire
On board the frigate Trollope (1943) berthed alongside North Corner Jetty in Portsmouth Dockyard, looking to starboard from the centreline of the upper deck showing the corrugations to the deck plating. Depth charge cradles and a Mark VII depth charge are on the deck. The entire forepart of the Trollope (1943), up to and including the foremast, was blown off by a torpedo from a German S-boat off the Normandy beaches on 6 Jul. 1944. The Trollope had six officers and 57 crew killed.
