A starboard midship detail of damage repairs being undertaken to the hull of the U S tank landing ship LST 543 (1944) in dry dock in Portsmouth Dockyard, taken from the top of the dock looking aft and to port. A large section of plating from the turn of the bilge up the fifth strake has been removed by oxy-acetylene cutting torch. Wooden staging has been erected to facilitate the work. Vertical format.
