Tank landing craft in C Lock, Portsmouth Dockyard, Hampshire.
Looking east-by-north from the south-west corner of the top of C Lock in Portsmouth Dockyard showing starboard quarter views of seven Mark 4 tank landing craft dried out in the lock undergoing maintenance and repairs. The nearest vessel is unidentified but has N22 on her bridge front and has Sherman type ramp extensions. The cowl ventilators either side of her bridge are marked "Unship in action". Her starboard oerlikon is in the foreground. To port is another unidentified craft which is LCT 5?? and she has Mulong type ramp extensions. Ahead are LCT 900 (1943) and LCT 784 (1943), with LCT 1126 (1944) and LCT 700 (1943) with Sherman ramp extensions beyond. Another unidentified vessel is at the end of the lock.
