Tank landing craft in C Lock, Portsmouth Dockyard, Hampshire.
Looking west-by-north from the south-east corner of the top of C Lock in Portsmouth Dockyard showing starboard bow views of seven Mark 4 tank landing craft dried out in the lock undergoing maintenance and repairs. The nearest vessel is unidentified but has "Channel Madcap" painted on the side of her bridge and T47 painted on the outside of her tank deck bulwark. Astern of her are LCT 700 (1943), with Sherman ramp extensions and P37 painted on her hull and bridge front, and LCT 1126 (1944). Next are LCT 784 (1943) and LCT 900 (1943). At the end of the lock is an LCT with N22 on her bridge front and Sherman type ramp extensions and on her port side is another unidentified craft which is LCT 5?? and she has Mulong type ramp extensions.
