Tank and infantry landing craft in No. 14 Dry Dock, Portsmouth Dockyard, Hampshire.
Looking east-by-north from the south-west corner of the top of No. 14 Dry Dock in Portsmouth Dockyard showing port bow views of four Mark 4 tank landing craft and three infantry landing craft dried out undergoing maintenance and repairs. The tank landing craft LCT 643 (1943) is in the foreground. She is fitted with Sherman ramp extension and has L24 on her bridge front. Alongside her is LCT 965 (1943) with no ramp extensions. Behind these two are LCT 649 (1943) and LCT 861 (1943), both fitted with Mulong type ramp extensions. At the end of the dock are three infantry landing craft, the centre one being LCI 129 (1942). In the background berthed on the north side of No. 3 Basin is the escort destroyer Blankney (1940).
