On board the torpedo damaged repair ship Albatross (1928) docked down in a dry dock in Portsmouth Dockyard. This shows severe damage in a crew space on the lower deck. The deck has been severely distorted. No work has yet been started to clear the debris. The ship was hit by a torpedo off Ouistreham and the forward third of the hull was flooded. Towed to Portsmouth for repair but repairs not fully completed. Negatives numbers N25654 to N25663 inclusive may all be taken in one large crew space, possibly No. 2 mess.
