The construction of a new caisson for Singapore's King George VI Dry Dock in A Lock, Portsmouth Dockyard. The photographer is looking north-west from the south side of the top of the lock near the east end. The main plating appears to be complete and all riveting to the outer walls is finished. Note the multi-outlet gas supply system by the side of the number 8 strake, on the top of number 7 strake.
