The construction of a new caisson for Singapore's King George VI Dry Dock in A Lock, Portsmouth Dockyard. The photographer is looking at one end of the caisson from the top of the lock on the south side. All of the scaffolding has been removed and the caisson is now kept in place by timber shores. The draught marks go up to 50 feet. The scotch crane on the north side of the lock has been dismantled. Vertical format.
