A framed photograph of H.M. King George V and H.R.H. the Prince of Wales disembarking from the Victory is above the mantlepiece. On the mantlepiece is a hygrographand a framed cartoon sketch titled "Soldier and Citizen too". It depicts a male figure dressed on the right as a soldier carrying his rifle and equipment and on the left dressed as a boiler suited civilian carrying a spade, fork, shovel, bucket and stirrup pump. the wall behind the figure is covered in notices for savings groups, fire watching, salvage steward, home guard, fire service, pig club and dig for victory.
