A piece of steel plating salvaged from the wreck of the German battleship Tirpitz (1939), sunk in Tromsöfjord, Norway, photographed in Portsmouth Dockyard. Printed on the steel is the note "Tirpitz - reverse side of deep transverse frame, worked intercostally with intermediate bulkhead".
