Steel plating from the wreck of the German battleship Tirpitz (1939) in Portsmouth Dockyard, Hampshire

A piece of steel plating salvaged from the wreck of the German battleship Tirpitz (1939), sunk in Tromsöfjord, Norway, photographed in Portsmouth Dockyard. Printed on the steel is the note "Tirpitz - deep transverse frame worked intercostally with intermediate bulkhead" and an annotated sketch showing whereabouts on the ship the piece had been taken from and the weight of the plate.
