A view in the after machinery compartment of the submarine Rorqual (1936) in Portsmouth Dockyard looking aft and to port at station 154 showing the minelaying control panel above an electric motor. The mining orders indicator is at the bottom right of the panel with the rear door switch and indicator above it. In the centre is a large clock-like unit. The three instruments on the left side of the panel, including the tachometer, have been removed. Vertical format.
