The interior of the Senior Scientific Laboratory in Portsmouth Dockyard showing a study of some form of liquid pressure gauge comprising two vertical tubes connected by a metal pipe at the bottom. The right hand tube has a glass panel on the front to which a graduated scale is fixed. This scale has two readings: 60 to 200 on the left and 0 to 5 with three intermediate marks between each of the five units. The number 32 appears under each of the main 1 to 5 numbers. Vertical format.
