On board the diving trials vessel Deepwater (1940), looking aft and to starboard from amidships, while she is berthed on the North West Wall in Portsmouth Dockyard. The starboard side of her rail mounted crane is dominant and her deck is cluttered with a number of sections of extending ladder and a large hemp hawser.
