The diving trials vessel Deepwater (1940) alongside the North West Wall, Portsmouth Dockyard, Hampshire
On board the diving trials vessel Deepwater (1940), looking aft and to port from amidships, while she is berthed on the North West Wall in Portsmouth Dockyard. Her deck is framed by the full width support for her crane and mainmast and is cluttered with a number of sections of extending ladder and a large hemp hawser. A light cruiser, either Diadem (1942) or Royalist (1942) is alongside North Corner Jetty and the submarine depot ship Wolfe (1920) is on Middle and North Slip Jetty.
