A piece of machinery in the submarine base at HMS Dolphin, Gosport, Hampshire.
A large piece of machinery photographed in the submarine base HMS Dolphin at Fort Blockhouse, Gosport. The machine has two cranks at one end. Attached to the top of the machine is a shaft with an armoured hose connected to a control unit at one end and led through a circular casing in the centre. The right side of the machine is out of the picture. The Portsmouth Dockyard negative register refers to this equipment as a "mechanical device". This is the same device as is shown in pieces in negatives numbers N26663 to N26671.
