The fleet oiler Wave Duke (1944) berthed at the oil fuel jetty at Clarence Yard, Gosport. A close view of the port side of the forecastle deck, looking aft and to port from the forward end of the forecastle, showing damage to the deck edge and guard rails. This was caused when she was in collision with the passenger/cargo liner Esperance Bay (1922) in fog 50 miles off Lands End on 29 Jul. 1948.
