The fleet oiler Wave Duke (1944) berthed at the oil fuel jetty at Clarence Yard, Gosport. A close view of the port side of the forward superstructure, looking forward and to starboard from the jetty, showing damage to the hull and stanchions. This was caused when she was in collision with the passenger/cargo liner Esperance Bay (1922) in fog 50 miles off Lands End on 29 Jul. 1948.
