Looking north-east from the west side of Main Road inside the Dockyard Main Gate, Portsmouth, showing the area known as the 'quarterdeck' at the junction of Main Road with College Road with No. 5 Boathouse and No. 51 Store forming the backdrop. The figurehead of the 3rd Rate Benbow (1813) is to the right of the flagstaff with the belfry to the left. On the wall of No. 5 Boathouse are a crown and the Prince of Wales feathers. College Road and the Police Quarters are on the right. Vertical format.
