A group of seamen and a supply petty officer unloading catering stores from a cargo net on the port side of the upper deck of the light cruiser Belfast (1938) in Portsmouth Dockyard. The stores are packed in wooden cases and a stack of cases are on the deck in the background. The stores include 7 lb tins of suet, 2 lb tins of tomatoes and 1 lb tins of baked beans. The Portsmouth Dockyard negative register lists this series of negatives as "HMS Belfast recruiting campaign".
