Shipping a BTH transformer from the Promontory in No. 3 Basin, Portsmouth Dockyard, Hampshire

An 82 ton British Thompson Houston transformer being hoisted from the Promontory in No. 3 Basin, Portsmouth Dockyard, by the 240 ton hammerhead crane. It is about to be loaded onto the Clyde Shipping Co's vessel which is berthed outboard of the Wave class fleet oiler berthed on the south side of the Promontory, as seen here. The funnel of the can be seen beyond the oiler. Vertical format.
