Inside the experimental atomic and biological research ship Ben Lomond (1945) in Portsmouth Dockyard, Hampshire

Inside the former tank deck of the experimental atomic and biological research ship Ben Lomond (1945) during her refit in Portsmouth Dockyard. A large rectangular unit is on the right. The removable end panel of the unit is held in place by 28 handwheels, each handwheel being numbered to correspond with the order in which they are to be released. A rubber boat is in the centre and it is carrying a large rectangular box that appears to have three box lights on a hinged bracket projecting from each side and another box light on the top of it. The date stamped on the boat is 11-1-43. The deckhead is fitted with hoist rails. Vertical format. See also negative number N26993 and N26995.
